If All Goes Well…

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

The latest update is almost ready to be sent to Apple to see if they approve it.  I did find one little programming issue that was causing a glitch I didn’t find before, but I think I got that fixed.  Some final artwork is being done, I’m working to keep the iPad implementation working also, but I’m also torn about what features should be included in the Lite version, or getting rid of the Lite version altogether.

I do like the idea of people getting the basics for free in the hope that convert to the paid version, but maybe a restful weekend will give me some insight.

If you are wondering what is on the horizon, I suppose the easiest teaser I can give you is the word “Sharing.”

Thanks for your support and comments!

I’m Smiling!

Friday, May 21st, 2010

I was having some issues in getting some future features to work, but I just got the basic functionality to work so now it’s about making it look pretty, at least I hope!  So go ahead, get the app now and get your “smileness” now, and when the update hits the app store in a couple of weeks, guess what – New features!

Now I do have things that I have planned, but if you have any feature ideas, or any comments, please let me know!

Happy Smileness!

V 1.4

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Well, Version 1.4 of the Make Me Smile app has been approved by Apple, so if you already bought a previous version, go ahead and do your updating, otherwise, head to the App Store and get some smileness!

The new version has some artwork enhancement, but more importantly, additional controls for your “Smile Song.” Yup, there on the Main Smile screen is a volume slider for your song, and on the setup screen there is a switch so you can have your smile song start instantly.

I hope you like the recent additions to the Make Me Smile app, yes I do have more things planned, go ahead and follow me on Twitter at twitter.com/whenismile, and hey, go ahead and “Like” us on Facebook!

Thank you for your support and keep on Smiling!

Expanding the “Smiles”

Friday, May 7th, 2010

As I wait to see if Apple likes some enhancements I’m planning for the Make Me Smile and Make Me Smile Lite apps, I’m starting to get the full app vision solidified in my head, which is nice, but I also want to start to expand the presence of both the website and apps.  My problem is where to start.  Sure, I Twitter, and you can find me at twitter.com/whenismile, so I’m looking for both people to follow, and hopefully people to follow as well, but I’m wondering about other ways to expand things.  I was considering a bulletin board, or maybe a Flickr feed, or just generally a depository of a place where you can share things that make you smile, how you feel when you smile, and just lots of smileness.  Heck, there’s also the Facebook page, too.

The problem I have with some of this is I don’t want to spread things too thin, but then again, I don’t want to leave things out.

So I guess for now, as I tweet more, as I follow people, as I post in Facebook, and just work on smileness, I would appreciate your comments and suggestions.  Lastly, I’d also like your reviews of the app, good and bad – things you like about it, how you use it, things you don’t like about it, why you deleted it, and just other ways you think the app can be improved to help your smileness.

Thanks for you continued support as Make Me Smile grows!

Make Me Smile Lite is Approved!

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

Hi Everyone!  Hope you are smiling!

In app news, the Lite version of the Make Me Smile App is live in the App store, so if you don’t want to spend a buck (and Thank You very much to those of you who bought the full version!), you can get some smileness for free!  The lite version doesn’t include the option to add a “Smile Song,” and it does have some banner ads, and sure, it has a button taking you to the option of buying the full version, but if you want some free smileness, go ahead and get it!

Oh yea, here’s the link to the Make Me Smile Lite app, and I’ll be updated the website this weekend with some other screenshots and stuff!

Thanks again for your smiles!
