I guess I should have posted right away, but I wanted to make sure the new “Lite” Version of the Make Me Smile app was stable, and all appears well. Yup, you can now get your smileness for free, albeit with some iAds included when they show, but they aren’t too obtrusive, and actually, if you click on them, they are some of the nicer ads you’ll find on a mobile phone.
The Lite version also allows you to share your smileness by bumping devices. So, if you bought the full version and want to share your smile photo with a friend, you can simply have them download the free version, or better yet, get them to buy the full version!
The Lite version does not allow you to post your smile picture to Facebook like the full version, and the full version is also iPad enabled so it’s almost like two apps in one.
So go ahead, try the Lite version, and if you like it, or want to easily share your Smile photo on your Facebook page, there is always the $0.99 version. The choice for smileness is now yours!
It’s important to smile in life – The Make Me Smile app, and Make Me Smile Lite, are here to help!
With my nephew’s urging, and a realization V. 1.5 didn’t work exactly as I wanted, I pushed out V. 1.6 of the Make Me Smile app quicker than planned so sorry if the quick update is annoying. The sharing features are all still present, but I added a button so that you can auto-approve your “Smile” photo to your Facebook wall, and also tested it to ensure it works with those of you running iOS 4.0
Thanks for you support, please leave me some feedback no matter your opinion, and drop a rating in the app store!

Version 1.5 of the Make Me Smile app is now in the app store. It was a good learning experience for me, adding new stuff, but I’m really excited about how things are shaping up. In this new version, for iPhone and iPod touch users (the iPad capability will be coming with the next update), you can share your smile photo in a number of ways.
First – You can upload your “Smile” photo to your Facebook wall. Yup, those of you with Facebook pages, and who doesn’t have one, can easily, using the app, post the photo on you wall!
Second – Let’s say you have a friend next to you with an iPhone or iPod touch and you want to easily share a copy of your “Smile” photo with them? Well, Just use the Bump feature, and will a simple, light bumping of your phones, your photo will be magically sent to their device and added as a smile photo. Your friend then has a copy of your photo!
Third – You can e-mail the photo to anyone! Yup, just use the e-mail sharing feature, enter their e-mail address, and a copy of your “Smile” photo will be on it’s way!
I’m really excited about the new update, and hope all of you like it! Please send me your feedback, or go ahead and give a rating for the app store!

The latest update is almost ready to be sent to Apple to see if they approve it. I did find one little programming issue that was causing a glitch I didn’t find before, but I think I got that fixed. Some final artwork is being done, I’m working to keep the iPad implementation working also, but I’m also torn about what features should be included in the Lite version, or getting rid of the Lite version altogether.
I do like the idea of people getting the basics for free in the hope that convert to the paid version, but maybe a restful weekend will give me some insight.
If you are wondering what is on the horizon, I suppose the easiest teaser I can give you is the word “Sharing.”
Thanks for your support and comments!
I was having some issues in getting some future features to work, but I just got the basic functionality to work so now it’s about making it look pretty, at least I hope! So go ahead, get the app now and get your “smileness” now, and when the update hits the app store in a couple of weeks, guess what – New features!
Now I do have things that I have planned, but if you have any feature ideas, or any comments, please let me know!
Happy Smileness!
